(500) Days of Summer

To be honest, I wasn’t too excited to see this movie at first. I thought it would be fun to watch but end up being just another meaningless romantic comedy. Boy, was I wrong. I loved (500) Days of Summer. The movie was not just another chick flick. The audience was filled with boys and girls alike. And as the narrator clearly specifies at the beginning of the movie, this is not just some love story.

True, the storyline has been done before: hopeless romantic male tries to woo a woman who doesn’t believe in true love or fairytales. But watch the movie, and you’ll see that this is something different. It’s much more realistic than most other movies and is not chock-full of predictability.

My only complaint is a rather minor one: the movie tended to skip around A LOT. Yet somehow it managed to stay quite clear in the storyline, and the jumbled sequence of events wasn’t too confusing. So my one complaint isn’t really a complaint at all.

I’ll leave you with three words: go see it.

OMG i totally loved this movie too! i think it should have made it more of a tragedy, but the current ending is alright. Great film that *shocker* takes an original spin on romantic comedy! Absolutely brilliant film and why i go to see movies; i always want to find a gem like this.

Oh, and the critics agree with us on this!
